Image Copyright Lowes Computers Tarentum, Pa. – One person is arrested after crashing his vehicle multiple times in the early morning hours just before 2:00 am at the intersection of Lock Street and East 6th Avenue in Tarentum. While on other business in the Tarentum area, this editor was parked in the Tarentum Station Parking lot on the West Tarentum side when a suspicious vehicle entered the parking lot and subsequently came in contact with the fencing on the side of the station. The suspect vehicle then turned around and proceeded to exit the parking lot striking and driving over a high curb and entered Lock Street. The vehicle then proceeded up Lock about 100′ in a distinct out of control fashion and struck the stop sign at the corner of Lock and 6th between the Tarentum Lodge and A-1 Rental. The stop sign stood it’s ground before breaking at the base causing the vehicle to gently roll over on it’s side. At least 2 people nearby went to the rolled vehicle to check on the driver’s condition. Image Copyright Lowes Computers Shortly after, Tarentum Police arrived on scene to help extricate the man through the sunroof where he emerged quite unsteady on his feet. Tarentum Police attempted to administer a breath test but the suspect was unable to complete the test. The man was put in handcuffs and transported from the scene. There were no other injuries.
