Pittsburgh, Pa. – Tonight is the start of the Steelers pre-season football game against the Packers. Kickoff time: 7:00 pm

The Pittsburgh Steelers enter the 2026 NFL season under head coach Mike McCarthy with an over-under win total consensus set right around 7.5 to 8.5 wins. Most sports analysts project a tight finish between 7-10 and 9-8, as the team adjusts to a transitional roster led by Aaron Rodgers.

Local Predictions by JW – I think the Steelers will do good in the preseason, winning 2 of 3. However, as Aaron Rodgers says, the preseason isn’t real football. I think that tonight against Green Bay that both rookie QBs will shine pretty well and win in a close game. I also think that the Steelers will beat the Jets next week, but lose to the Bills the following week. As for the regular season, I say the Steelers go 11-6 and end up wild card exits. I think that they have good potential with the offense and I like having Aaron Rodgers to help develop the rookie quarterbacks since he is a veteran. I just think they won’t get over the playoff hump… it’s been their kryptonite for the past 10 years after all. I do think that they will keep it close in the wild card round though, but still end up losing.

WEATHER: For the Pittsburgh Steelers preseason game against the Green Bay Packers at Acrisure Stadium tonight, expect a high near 80°F to 83°F during the day, dropping to the low 70s around kickoff with a low near 65°F to 69°F overnight. Isolated daytime showers or tailgating storms may occur, but conditions should mostly dry out or ease up by kickoff, with a minor 20% to 35% chance of lingering light rain
